One of the oldest and most respected personal injury firms in New England, SUGARMAN has a nearly 65-year legacy of obtaining outstanding results for injured clients. Its lawyers work tirelessly to hold people, corporations and insurance companies accountable for serious and life-changing injuries. Since the firm opened, it has remained Boston’s premier personal injury law firm.

Continuing the firm’s decades of success, SUGARMAN's lawyers obtained Massachusetts’ largest personal injury jury award in 2019, the second largest reported personal injury settlement in 2021 and the largest reported personal injury verdict or settlement in 2022. SUGARMAN's lawyers are frequently recognized locally and nationally for their achievements, including recognition as Super Lawyers and Rising Stars, and inductions in the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the highest professional honors attainable for a trial lawyer.

SUGARMAN has handled nearly every type of personal injury case, including defective products, explosions, fires, construction accidents, car accidents, bicycle accidents, trucking and other vehicular accidents, airplane accidents, property defects and all manner of injury. All eight lawyers at the firm have a wealth of knowledge, experience and reputation that is unapparelled in personal injury law.

SUGARMAN has five lawyers recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for 2023 in Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs: Neil Sugarman (since 1987), Paul Sugarman (1997), Marianne LeBlanc (2005), Benjamin Zimmerman (2010) and David McCormack (2021).

Three SUGARMAN lawyers have received the prestigious “Lawyer of the Year” award a combined five times. This award is bestowed to a single lawyer per practice area and metropolitan area for the highest voter feedback through the meticulous Best Lawyers ballots. Neil Sugarman was named “Lawyer of the Year” in Boston for his work in Product Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs (2010, 2015) and Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs (2014). Both Marianne C. LeBlanc and Benjamin R. Zimmerman were named “Lawyer of the Year” in Boston in 2022 for their work in Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs and Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs, respectively.

Along with individual awards, the firm has spent more than a decade ranked Tier 1 in Boston in three specialties in U.S. News – Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms”: Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs (2010-2023), Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs (2010-2023) and Product Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs (2013-2023).
