Since 2003, Amy L. Drushal has devoted her career to assisting and representing her clients through complex legal matters, primarily focusing on Financial Services Regulation Law. As a full-time attorney, Drushal currently works for Tampa-based firm Trenam Law, also serving as a shareholder.
Recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2019, Drushal is currently being honored as “Lawyer of the Year” for Financial Services Regulation Law in Tampa for 2024, previously being honored in 2022 for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law and Commercial Litigation.
Of her legal career and recent recognition, Drushal stated: “I have the opportunity to learn about different companies and different areas of law for each case. It makes each case interesting and rewarding in getting to learn about a client’s business and what they do. It also helps me prepare clients for future issues that may arise in their businesses. I find that the most challenging aspects are navigating the different rules and procedures for every court and every judge because there are different rules, procedures and policies for every single judge and every single circuit or district, so you have to be diligent in checking to make sure you have done everything correctly for the judge before whom you appear and in the court in which your case resides. Also, post-COVID-19, the courts are more crowded than ever, and it can be difficult managing clients’ expectations as to how soon a case can get to court, as it is something out of my control.”
With 20 years of legal experience under her belt, Drushal is well-versed in handling cases in a wide variety of complex legal matters, including real estate, employment disputes and bankruptcy and creditor’s rights matters. Additionally, Drushal was recently appointed to serve as co-chair of the firm’s Financial Services Industry Team as well as the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group.
“That the firm trusts me to assist in leading this fantastic group of attorneys has meant a great deal to me personally and professionally. After 20 years in this career field, I think great attorneys are responsive, respectful and know their clients’ businesses, and I believe I have those traits. With that, I’ve had a significant number of memorable cases. By far, my most memorable was working with the ACLU to get the pat-downs stopped at Raymond James Stadium. In that case, we were in the state trial and appellate court and then the federal district and appellate courts, with a trip to the U.S. Supreme Court, where our petition for writ of certiorari was denied. Recently, one of my favorite cases was working with a Spanish winery who had a dispute with their former U.S. importer. It was interesting learning about wine and the import business in the U.S.”
