Find Lawyers in Ontario, Canada for Health Care Law
Practice Area Overview
The health care law client-base includes health care facilities and professionals along with their respective insurers. A health care lawyer must act as an advisor on issues including risk management and governance, issues of consent and capacity, end of life decision making, continuity of care, privacy and ethical matters, product and professional liability, claims management, and human resources. Health care lawyers also assist their clients in dealing with varied third party interests within both the private and public domain. In completing these tasks, the health care lawyer must work within a highly regulated framework. It is the legal team’s job to build a trusted reputation amongst individual health professionals, hospitals, hospital boards and health care institutions while ensuring their client stays ahead of industry changes so that the focus remains where it should – on patients.
