Robert D. MacGill
Trial lawyer Robert MacGill has represented Fortune 50 companies, city and state governments, businesses with high-stakes legal issues, and top athletes in resolving complicated matters through negotiation or trial. Rob's trial and appellate results are found in a variety of reported cases. Rob represents U.S. and foreign-domiciled companies at trial and before appellate courts throughout the country. He has served as national counsel to industrial, agricultural, real estate, and transportation organizations. His responsibilities in those roles have included defending national class actions and cases with high-dollar verdict potential. State and city governments have retained Rob to resolve or defend complex claims involving massive potential compensation or controversial government policies.Rob's trial verdicts for claimant companies have been reported in the National Law Journal and by ALM's Top 100 Verdicts. He recently secured a judgment in Delaware in a patent and trade secret dispute which qualified as a Top 100 Verdict for 2019. This is Rob’s second Top 100 Verdict since 2013. His work has been featured on NBC and CBS, and in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The National Law Journal, The London Times, USA Today, The Economist, and the Dow Jones News Service. Rob has served his community in a variety of ways in the not-for-profit sector. He has served on Boards of Directors for multiple companies during his career. He is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana, the United States Supreme Court, and numerous federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country.
Matthew T. Ciulla
Matthew Ciulla focuses his practice on high-stakes commercial litigation in courts nationwide. A former federal circuit clerk, Matt briefs and litigates key issues from case inception to judgment, with a constant focus on strategies for evidentiary presentations, trial tactics, and preserving the appellate record. Matt has served as defense counsel to several Fortune 100 companies. A versatile litigator, he also prosecutes affirmative claims on behalf of major corporations in matters involving intellectual property, insurance coverage, trade secret misappropriation, and unfair competition. In one recent trial, Matt was recognized by the National Law Journal for a 2019 Top 100 Verdict. In addition to his oral and written advocacy in Court proceedings, Matt has extensive experience in designing, supervising, and defending complex electronic discovery protocols. This includes matters such as the forensic extraction of structured and legacy data and implementing the latest Technology Assisted Review systems. Matt served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Charles R. Wilson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Tampa, Florida. Before joining MacGill PC, Matt worked as a litigation associate at an AmLaw 100 law firm. Matt has been published in the Notre Dame Law Review; the DePaul Law Review; the Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship, and the Law; and the Notre Dame Law Review Online.Matt graduated summa cum laude from Notre Dame Law School, where he was Managing Senior Editor of the Notre Dame Law Review and Founding Tournament Director of the Notre Dame National Appellate Advocacy Tournament for Religious Freedom. He received his B.S. from Vanderbilt University. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in both the U.S. private sector (CIPP/US) and the U.S. government (CIPP/G). A long-time Eagle Scout, Matt remains active in his community. Matt is admitted to practice in Indiana and numerous federal courts.
