Antonia specialises in personal injury insurance litigation. She has a particular interest in complex medical disputes and defending fraudulent claims. Her approach to claims involves early resolution where appropriate and vigorous defence and forensic investigations where warranted.
What she does
Antonia advises on all aspects of claims management. She is adept at assessing and defending claims involving complex liability issues and multiple defendants, catastrophic injury, and compensation to relatives. She has experience appearing in the District Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, as well as the Personal Injury Commission (previously the Claims Assessment Resolution Service).Antonia also participates in the firm’s pro bono activities and volunteers at Marrickville Legal Centre.
Who she works with
Antonia works with major Australian insurers. Early in her career, Antonia completed a secondment with a global insurer and gained a valuable understanding of the insurer’s business objectives and drivers. More recently, she completed a secondment with another insurer in the Motor Accidents Injuries Act 2017 (MAIA) team. As a technical advisor, Antonia assisted with liability decisions and guided claims staff on early preparation and management of complex claims.
Qualifications
Antonia holds a Bachelor of Arts (History) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney.

Before joining Sparke Helmore, Antonia worked at Curwoods Lawyers and a boutique insurance firm.
Life outside of Sparkes
Antonia spends her free time either travelling or planning her next trip overseas.
