Dr. Arno Riethmüller's practice covers a broad spectrum of national and international arbitration and (cross-border) commercial litigation.
His expertise includes corporate and commercial law including post M&A, trade-related conflicts, and cartel damage claims. He also advises clients on civil fraud, energy, damages and construction disputes. Arno represents clients across a broad range of industry sectors including private equity, banks/financial institutions, investors, trade, machine engineering, energy, health science, and the automotive industry.
Arno has conducted arbitration proceedings as counsel and arbitrator under the auspices of renowned arbitral institutions such as the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), and the Swiss Rules as well as ad hoc arbitrations. These proceedings have been seated in cities including Vienna, Paris, London, Geneva, Zurich, Dusseldorf, and Munich, and have been governed by a wide array of legal systems, including German, English, New York, Swiss, Austrian, Italian, and Iraqi law.
Arno is recognized by BestLawyers / Handelsblatt as a specialist in the area of Arbitration and Mediation, International Arbitration and Litigation.
Further, Arno has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal as Future Leader Arbitration and as recommended Lawyer for International Arbitration by Leaders League.
Arno has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, since April 2018 and a visiting lecturer for the Higher Regional Court District of Munich in the context of the bar exam training (Referendarausbildung) since July 2023.
He has also made significant contributions to the field through publications on arbitral law and frequent participation as a speaker at national and international conferences.
