C.H. “Hal” Houston III is a shareholder in Carr Allison’s Jacksonville (FL) office where he practices in the areas of transportation, government torts and public liability, commercial litigation, general litigation, maritime and labor and employment. Hal is admitted to practice in Florida and before the US District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and before the US Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. His experience includes all phases of litigation from pre-suit negotiation, through discovery and motion practice, including drafting dispositive motions and briefing, to handling trials and appeals and appellate oral arguments.

Hal received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Florida, graduating cum laude, with a major in finance and minors in African studies and education. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, Hal was a Florida Gubernatorial fellow. He was selected as a member of Florida Blue Key and participated in the Jessup Moot Court.

Hal is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Jacksonville Federal Bar Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Florida Bar and the Chester Bedell Inn of Court. To expand his legal knowledge, Hal participated in the 2022 Annual Longshore Conference. He has also been included in The Best Lawyers in America® Ones to Watch since 2022.
