Chelsea advises employers in labor and employment matters, with a focus on traditional labor issues, union elections, and unfair labor practice charges.
Chelsea has defended companies against unfair labor practice charges and litigation brought by labor unions before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and in labor arbitrations. Chelsea has provided advice to employers faced with union organizing efforts. She also counsels employers on the interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
Beyond traditional labor matters, Chelsea offers advice and counsel on employment matters, including investigating and responding to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charges and discrimination charges filed with state human relations agencies. She has advised employers in conducting internal investigations in response to discrimination and harassment complaints. Chelsea has also conducted manager and employee trainings, including topics such as preventing workplace discrimination and harassment.
While in law school, Chelsea served as a law clerk to an Administrative Law Judge at the NLRB in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, Chelsea interned with a Regional office of the NLRB, where she investigated charges filed on behalf of labor unions and individual employees. She was a member of the Public Contract Law Journal and received the ABA/BNA Academic Award for Excellence in Labor and Employment Law.
