Christina Kurow is a commercial litigator who represents clients in state and federal courts and in arbitrations nationwide. Christina co-leads the firm’s Chicago Women’s Resource Group and serves on the firm’s Associates’ Council.

Complex Commercial Litigation

A large part of my practice includes litigating cases involving trade secret misappropriation, restrictive covenants, breaches of contract, fiduciary duty claims, and corporate raiding.

Recently, I represented a startup pharmaceutical company in an expedited arbitration relating to a series of incorrectly calculated earnout payments. The arbitrator awarded the client over $3 million in reimbursement, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, as well as nearly all of our clients’ attorneys’ fees and costs as the prevailing party.

Labor & Employment LitigationI have also defended companies in a variety of labor and employment cases filed in state and federal courts, the Illinois Human Rights Commission (IHRC), and the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR). Specifically, I have experience defending lawsuits involving claims of age, sex, gender, and disability discrimination; constructive and wrongful discharge; wage-and-hour; and claims regarding the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA). I have also represented institutions and individuals in various guardianship related matters and have successfully obtained temporary and plenary guardianship appointments in over a dozen matters.

Looking aheadAs technology continues to evolve, I am paying particular attention to how companies can best protect their trade secrets and confidential information from misappropriation and how discovery practices must adapt in light of these.
