Claudio Magliona excels in corporate and financing law, technology law, telecommunications, and intellectual property. His work spans corporate structures, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, software development agreements, franchising, data protection, computer crime prevention, and film distribution. He is also adept in government relations and policy matters.

Relevant transactions include: the acquisition of Bazuca.com by VTR in 2007, the acquisition of Deremate.com Chile by MercadoLibre in 2009, a multimillion-dollar buyout in a notable consumer product company in 2010, international financing of Compara Online by Grupo Kaszek in 2012, the acquisition of CortaContas (Brazil) and the entrance of BuscaPe Group to Compara Online in 2013, acquisition of renal care centers by Diaverum UK between 2012-2013, acquisition of SaferTaxi by Tappsi SAS (Colombia) in 2014, acquisition of Portalinmobiliario by Mercado Libre in 2014, credit agreement from Société Générale to Sucden Chile S.A. in 2016, and Adessa Falabella Data Center sale to GTD Grupo Teleductos in 2018. He also advised Kaszek Ventures in financing rounds for Fintual in 2020, Phage Technologies and Xepelin in 2021, among others.

Claudio Magliona has spoken at numerous conferences across Latin America and has been quoted in various publications. He is the author of several works on technology and law, data protection, intellectual property, and film financing, including the book "Computer Crime and Fraud, Comparative Law and Law No. 19,223," for Editorial Jurídica de Chile, and the article "Doing Business in Latin America: Opportunities and Pitfalls," Los Angeles Business Journal. He also authored the Getting the Deal Through chapters for Chile on Licensing 2018, E-commerce 2018, Data Protection 2018, and Copyright 2018.

He is a member of the Chilean Bar Association and the International Bar Association (IBA).

Academically, Claudio is a Professor and Director of the LLM in Law, Technologies, Telecommunications, and Intellectual Property at the Universidad de Chile Law School.

Claudio Magliona graduated from Universidad de Chile with Distinction in 1997 and obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) in Law, Science & Technology from Stanford Law School in 2003. He was admitted to the Bar in 1997.
