Daniel Loyd Taylor’s law practice encompasses all aspects of family law – divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support.
Mr. Taylor is a native Memphian, having graduated from Messick High School and the University of Memphis Law School. He was admitted to the bar in 1980, in both Tennessee courts and the U.S. District Court, Western District of Tennessee. He has argued numerous cases before the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Tennessee, with many being reported and published opinions. He is a member of the Memphis, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations.
He has been in solo practice since 2002. Before that, he was a principal in the firm of Causey, Caywood & Taylor, Jim Causey and David Caywood being both his mentors and his dearest friends. He has practiced with his colleague John N. Bean since 1997.
A rapidly growing part of his practice is mediation. Mr. Taylor states that alternative dispute resolution is a significant change in family law. His long history of handling domestic cases enhances his usefulness as a mediator in those types of cases.
Mr. Taylor has been listed in Woodward/White’s Best Lawyers in America in Family Law for 23 years. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and has enjoyed a Martindale-Hubbell AV certification for 23 years. Locally, he is a member of the prestigious Memphis Lawyers Journal Club, and is also a past chairman of the Family Law Section of the Memphis Bar Association.
