Daniela is a Partner and Lawyer in the Medical Malpractice Group at Neinstein Personal Injury Lawyers. Her practice is focused on plaintiff-side medical malpractice and traumatic injury litigation. She is known as a passionate advocate and thought leader amongst her peers and clients.
Daniela regularly acts as counsel in complex multi-party medical malpractice trials and appeals, having appeared before the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal on several occasions. Her most recent courtroom accomplishments include victories in Hasan v Trillium Health (2022 ONSC 3175) and Hemmings (litigation guardian of) v Peng (2022 OJ No 2674), both involving severely brain injured plaintiffs; and a recent appeal win in Farej v Fellows (2022 ONCA 254).
Daniela serves on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and completed her tenure as Chair of the Medical Malpractice Section of OTLA in 2020. Daniela also served as Chair of the Women's Caucus for two consecutive years and was awarded an OTLA Women's Caucus Award in 2017. She is regularly asked to speak and lecture on issues relevant to medical malpractice law by legal media, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Law Society of Ontario, and the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto (Mississauga Academic of Medicine).
She was voted by her peers as a leading expert in her field for 3 consecutive years in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory®. Daniela was also recognized by Best Lawyers® for 2021-2023, an award based entirely on peer review.
