David has extensive experience representing unions in the federal public sector and appears frequently before arbitrators and the Canada Industrial Relations Board on behalf of postal workers and other federally regulated workers. David also specializes in education law and acts on behalf of teacher federations and their members on issues arising from their collective agreements or before the Ontario College of Teachers. David appears regularly on behalf of clients on judicial reviews in the Courts.

With his many years of experience in the field, David provides strategic and policy advice to his clients as well as ongoing collective agreement advice and representation. This role regularly involves addressing the interrelationship of human rights, the duty to accommodate, and collective agreement rights and responsibilities.

David is the author, with Elizabeth McIntyre, of An Educator's Guide to the Ontario College of Teachers, the only available practical guide on this subject. The book draws on David's expertise in providing employment advice to teachers. David also has widespread experience in designing and participating in alternative dispute resolution procedures. David presents annual Grievance Arbitration Workshops for a variety of unions, and Union Steward workshops covering all areas of labour relations and professional issues, including skills training in the presentation of grievances.
