A renowned trial lawyer, Dave focuses his practice on personal injury cases resulting from catastrophic car, motorcycle, and truck accidents. He is widely recognized for his expertise in handling traumatic brain injury cases, achieving record-setting jury verdicts for victims with TBI and spinal injuries, psychiatric damages, and neurological injuries as well as wrongful death cases throughout Michigan.

He has amassed an extensive body of work during his 30+ year career and is equally regarded as an extraordinarily successful trial attorney and a man of great principle. Dave regularly squares off against the nation's largest corporations and insurance companies to obtain justice for his clients, for whom he has obtained numerous seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements, including a $17.8M traffic accident injury verdict, the largest in the history of the State at the time. He has tried over 70 jury trials for personal injury and wrongful death cases and represented clients before the Michigan Supreme Court.

Founding Christensen Law in 2014 after 22 years in practice, he was determined to create a firm that embodies the values of compassion and individualized client care, and one that provides a unique workplace culture that supports, empowers, and develops team members to achieve success in their careers.

A recognized authority on Michigan’s No-Fault law and reform, he is also focused on giving back to the legal profession by improving the court process and, by extension, providing improved access to justice for the public. As a member of the Michigan State Bar Negligence Section’s Council, he worked to defeat efforts to overturn the No-Fault system, strengthening the public’s right to a jury trial and just compensation. In 2016, Dave chaired the Scope and Course of Discovery Subcommittee of the Michigan State Bar’s Civil Discovery Court Rule Review Special Committee to overhaul the civil discovery process. A comprehensive examination of the outmoded discovery rules resulted in extensive changes to pretrial procedures. He participated in a Washington DC think tank supporting state court systems, the National Center for State Courts. In 2013, he worked with an elite group of state supreme court justices, legal administrators, Fortune 500 general counsel, and senior practitioners from major law firms comprising the Civil Justice Improvements Committee as commissioned by The Conference of Chief Justices to study and develop model policies and rules to make state court systems more accessible. In collaboration with the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System, they authored a plan that would become the framework to restructure court systems throughout the country to be more efficient and expeditious in processing cases, expanding access to justice on a national level. In 2021, Dave was inducted into the Michigan Hall of Fame for distinguished legal practitioners. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell, and has received extensive accolades including Top 100 Trial Attorney, Best Lawyers in America, Leader in the Law, Top 50 Consumer Lawyer, and Top Lawyer in Metropolitan Detroit as well as the MILW Hall of Fame distinction.

A long-serving board member of local non-profit and charitable organizations, Dave continues to support those in need through both personal and firm initiatives, encouraging employee service to promote engagement and connection to the community. When not in court, Christensen is an avid marathoner and backcountry skier who enjoys spending time with his family in Michigan and Florida.
