Emilia Beskind is an accomplished trial lawyer. She has tried numerous serious felony cases to a successful result in the District of Columbia, Louisiana, and North Carolina courts.
In addition to trying cases, Emilia Beskind trains other lawyers in courtroom skills. She has been a faculty member at the annual Anthony G. Amsterdam Capital Post-Conviction Skills Seminar and frequently trains other lawyers at programs run by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and many other organizations. Emilia Beskind has a particular interest in jury selection and has written and conducted training for David Ball, a nationally recognized expert in jury behavior and selection. She is also the Co Author of “The North Carolina Rules of Evidence with Objections”
Emilia Beskind graduated J.D., 2008 Duke University School of Law, where she was Director of the Innocence Project and a member of the Mock Trial Board: LL.M. (Master of Laws in Criminal Advocacy), 2010, Georgetown University Law Center where she was an E. Barrett Prettyman Graduate Clinical Teaching Fellow.
