Before joining Regan Zambri Long in 2018, Emily worked at Wake Forest University as a legal writing teaching assistant. During that time, she also served as Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board. She competed in the National Moot Court Competition, where her team placed second in their region. Her team’s legal brief earned a top-ten score among law schools nationwide.
Emily Lagan is a member of the Order of Barristers, a national honorary organization that recognizes achievements in legal writing and oral advocacy. She was recently elected as Secretary of the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia and has been the co-chair for the New Lawyers Division as well as the Young Lawyers Committee of the Women’s Bar Association. She was selected as a member of the Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council of the District of Columbia Bar Foundation.
Since 2021, she was selected to the District of Columbia Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers.
Emily graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond and cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Law. She is licensed to practice in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
