Dr Frank Thiäner is a partner at POELLATH in Munich.
Frank advises shareholders, investors and companies on M&A transactions. His focus is on private equity, family-owned enterprises and cross-border transactions. He also advises on venture capital transactions and succession planning. His clients include well-known German and international private equity funds, owners of medium-sized companies and private investors.
He is one of the founders of the Munich M&A Forum e.V., served as chair of the Private Equity Sub-Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) (2015-2016), prior Vice-Chair (2013-2014) and is a lecturer for M&A at the University of Münster since 2006.
Clients appreciate his understanding of economics, his many years of transactional experience, and his efficient and goal-oriented negotiation skills. He is determined, friendly and has a British sense of humor.
Frank studied law in Bonn, Lausanne and Heidelberg (1989-1994) and worked as an assistant at the University of Heidelberg (1994-1996). He was a trainee in Hamburg and London (1996-1999) and was admitted to the bar in 1999 and as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2000. He was an associate in a major international law firm in London (1999-2002) before he joined POELLATH in 2003.
