James A. Alexander, Jr. is a Senior Associate in the Global Corporate Group at Reed Smith LLP. He is one of the founding attorneys of the new Atlanta office as of February 2025. James concentrates his legal practice on representing private equity, growth equity, and venture capital clients in M&A, investments, divestitures, and other corporate matters in a broad range of industries.
In addition to his robust M&A practice, James maintains a strong Corporate Governance practice and Payments/FinTech practice. James has closed over $11B worth of transactions in his career thus far.
As a civic leader, James is also an ordained Christian clergy, a sought after legal and moral ethicist, and business strategist. As part of his community engagement, James has served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Found Stages, Inc., a non-profit immersive theater company, and Executive Board member of ArtsATL, the premier publication for the arts in Atlanta.
