Jean Oliver is a personal injury lawyer with over 22 years of experience. Her focus has been primarily on representing people seriously injured due to negligence, including those injured in motor vehicle accidents.
In 1996 she was called to the Alberta Bar and had been with CAM LLP since 2012. Before joining the firm, Jean practiced in the area of insurance defence with a large private firm. After that, Olivier spent nine years with Alberta Justice in civil litigation, where she represented the Administrator of the Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Fund and defended claims brought against the Province of Alberta.
Her former work as a defence lawyer for insurance companies has been very valuable in how adjusters and defence counsel approach claims, allowing her to handle claims favourably on behalf of her clients.
Jean has experience representing clients before the Provincial Court of Alberta, Court of Queen’s Bench and Court of Appeal, and the Alberta Human Rights Commission. At the same time, she has experience representing clients in numerous mediations and Judicial Dispute Resolutions and acting as Inquiry Counsel for provincial fatality inquiries.
Jean works meticulously and listens to her clients throughout the legal process. She is part of a group of hard-working lawyers and approaches her cases practically and ethically. She is also a member of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association (ACTLA) and the Law Society of Alberta.
