Jean-Philippe Brunet is one of the few Quebec lawyers to have devoted his entire career exclusively in advising businesses and business people on immigration matters.
He has been practicing for more than 25 years in Montreal, first in a leading boutique firm, then as a partner and head of the national business immigration team at an international firm and finally as a founding and managing partner of Galileo Partners since 2016.
For nearly 15 years now, he has been on the most recognized legal charts including Chambers & Partners, Best Lawyers, Who's Who Legal, Canadian Lexpert Directory, Legal 500 Canada, Lexology Client Choice Award and BTI Client Service All-Star – making him one of the most recognized lawyers in the field of immigration law in Canada.
Furthermore, Jean-Philippe regularly writes on topics related to immigration and international mobility in renowned publications, in addition to being interviewed frequently by various media (newspaper, Web article, radio and television) on hot topics in the field of immigration. He also is a regular speaker on provincial, national and international panels.
Jean-Philippe is also a member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines et en relations industrielles agréés du Québec since 2001 with the title of Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR). As CPHR, he was invited on August 14, 2019 to participate to a parliamentary committee in Quebec City on immigration bills.
Jean-Philippe has been a member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) for over 20 years and has served on its executive since 2004, including as President of the National Section in Immigration and Citizenship Law in 2007. He received the CBA Volunteer Recognition Award in 2018.
Jean-Philippe is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Canadian Association of Immigration Lawyers (ACAI/CILA).
With his passion for business consulting and immigration law, Jean-Philippe actively continues to have a role in technical cases as well as in cases involving mobility of executives and their family. He also uses his experience and the depth of his knowledge to benefit difficult cases for all Galileo Partners clients. He is responsible for developing and proposing highly personalized approaches to meet the increasingly complex challenges of Galileo's clients, including labour shortage and the retention of international talent. He manages his clients' Canadian and American immigration files so that they can focus on achieving their business objectives. Jean-Philippe also acts as a mentor and senior resource within Galileo Partners' team of professionals.
Jean-Philippe is also proud to have been socially involved in the community for over 20 years by serving on boards of directors and acting as legal advisor to non-profit organizations.
