Jennifer Davidson practices technology law and intellectual property law at Deeth Williams Wall LLP, advising clients on a wide range of technology-related matters, including outsourcing, SaaS, licensing, privacy, data protection and the protection of intellectual property in innovations, particularly with respect to emerging technologies, fintech, blockchain, NFTs and artificial intelligence.
Jennifer also advises on cybersecurity, acting as “breach counsel” for cybersecurity incidents for a wide variety of clients in both public and private sectors. Jennifer works closely with clients to assist in all levels of cybersecurity risk management, including preparedness measures, risk assessment, mitigation, due diligence and compliance obligations.
Jennifer is the Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s IT & IP Law Section, Vice President of the Canadian Technology Law Association (CAN-TECH), Co-Chair of the Women in Technology committee @CAN-TECH, and member of the advisory board of an internationally recognized science and technology university. Jennifer is also a member of the faculty at Osgoode Hall Law School’s Drafting and Negotiation IT Agreements certificate program and coach to the school’s International IP Mooting program.
Jennifer is a frequent speaker and writer on technology, cybersecurity, privacy and intellectual property law. Jennifer also frequently speaks on issues affecting equality, diversity and inclusion in the legal sector.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Jennifer worked in the technology sector, developing customized solutions and applications to small and medium sized enterprises.
