Jessica Parent is a member of Lavery’s Labour and Employment group.
As part of her practice, she is called upon to deal with a wide variety of issues, including hiring and employment termination, labour standards, human rights and freedoms, collective agreement decrees, disciplinary measures and the interpretation and application of employment contracts and collective agreements.
Jessica is regularly involved in complex files dealing with the purchase and sale of businesses, whether it be at the due diligence stage or to provide strategic advice in connection with the integration of employees. She has also developed a particular expertise with respect to regulatory requirements for personnel placement agencies and temporary foreign worker recruitment agencies.
Before joining Lavery, Jessica worked as a labour relations consultant in the hospital sector, where she gained practical experience in collective labour relations and workplace investigations. During her university studies, she worked in the legal affairs department of the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail.
Jessica appears on the Dean’s list of the Faculty of Law of the Université de Sherbrooke and has been awarded the Prix des Éditions Yvon Blais in legal writing.
