Jörg Beckmann studied law at the Georg-August-University in Göttingen, where he received his doctorate from the chair of Prof. Dr. Andreas Sattler.
He completed his legal clerkship in 2001 at the Kammergericht.
In the years that followed, Jörg Beckmann worked for two Berlin law firms that were well-known in the market. There he specialized in public building law and public zoning law. A particular focus of Jörg Beckmanns work is the special urban planning law of the German Building Code.
In 2004 he acquired the title of a specialist lawyer for administrative law.
In 2007, he moved to the Gaßner, Groth, Siederer & Coll. [GGSC] law firm, where he has been working ever since.
Since 2011, Jörg Beckmann has been training mainly the employees of the public building law administration in courses and seminars of various providers.
Since 2020, Jörg Beckmann has been an honorary professor at the Municipal University of Administration in Lower Saxony (Kommunale Hochschule für Verwaltung in Niedersachsen/HSVN), where he primarily teaches public building law. He regularly publishes articles in professional journals on current topics and judgments in public building law, monument law, preservation law and other ancillary areas of building law.
Jörg Beckmann has assisted many well-known investments in particular in the Berlin real estate market regard to public building law, but is just as frequently commissioned by cities and municipalities. His commitment is to urban planning, taking into account social and environmental aspects (ESG).
