Karl F. Kumli is an associate in the Denver, Colorado, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Focused on assisting clients in navigating questions related to safety and health concerns in the workplace, Karl’s experience includes both a background as in-house counsel as well as outside advisor. This perspective allows Karl to better understand the needs and constraints clients face in overcoming questions about workplace safety.
Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Karl represented companies before state and federal safety regulators, as well as representing clients in multimillion dollar bet-the-company civil litigation. Karl also served as compliance counsel for a company with industrial sites across the country, serving as the company’s internal investigator and advisor on questions involving regulatory inspections, injuries or employee complaints. His work in-house and in private practice has touched on a broad array of industries and business needs, from resource extraction and manufacturing to healthcare and transportation.
Before going to law school, Karl served in emergency services for 10 years as a firefighter, training officer and incident commander, giving him a unique ability to manage client emergencies. In all client interactions, Karl strives to understand the individual needs of a client’s business and provide accurate and timely information and advice to assist clients in making the best decision for their future, from developing policies and procedures to ensure employee safety to responding to any unexpected crisis that may arise.
