Trusts and Estates
My approach in my practice is one of empathy and support. I provide my clients with peace of mind as I help them plan for the future and guide them through difficult times.Creating an estate plan can be daunting, and it is tempting to put it off. I make the process as easy and stress-free as possible, and my clients leave feeling a sense of accomplishment and relief. My team and I also guide families through the handling of the estate after the death of a loved one. We understand how difficult it is for families and we provide a steady hand to help get them through the process. My goal is to help to make an emotional and difficult time a little bit easier, and to make sure that the process goes as smoothly as possible. I also assist families with adult guardianships and special needs planning. I create both First Party and Third Party Special Needs Trusts and provide educational information to families about public benefits, the administration of Special Needs Trusts, ABLE accounts, Pooled Trusts, and community supports. My goal is to provide advice and guidance in a way that makes my clients feel comfortable and confident when making decisions about their futures and the futures of their families. Honest and open communication is key to establishing a solid attorney-client relationship, so I actively listen to my clients and work hard to ensure that my clients are included in every step of the process. I collaborate with them and together we work toward the achievement of their goals. I grew up in Baltimore County, and, after getting my undergraduate degree from Loyola University, I received my J.D. from The University of Maryland School of Law. I am admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. I am a past President of the Montgomery County Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association and am still an active member of that organization. I am also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Montgomery County, the Montgomery County Estates and Trusts Bar Section, the Academy of Special Needs Planners, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). I have spoken on various topics related to estate planning at multiple government agencies, professional groups, charities, and other organizations. It is my privilege to be able to provide value to my clients and to draw on my experience to help them achieve their goals. I look forward to assisting you.
