Lisa M. Cukier

LISA M. CUKIER is a partner and Executive Committee member at Burns & Levinson concentrating her practice in all aspects of probate law, estate and trust litigation, fiduciary litigation, planning and litigation for blended families and same-sex couples, child custody, adoption, guardianship and conservatorship, mental health law, elder financial exploitation and disabled person advocacy. Ms. Cukier formerly served as Assistant General Counsel for the Department of Mental Health and as Assistant General Counsel for the Department of Mental Retardation. Ms. Cukier is past president of the Massachusetts Family and Probate Inn of Court, past board member on Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Board of Editors, past council member of the Boston Bar Association, past board member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, past co-chair of the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association, and past board member of Newton Montessori School. Ms. Cukier was honored in 2006 with the MBA/MLGBA Community Service Award and honored in 2005 with the Woman of Distinction In Law and Public Service recognition by the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers. Ms. Cukier was selected by Best Lawyers in America® in consecutive years from 2010 through 2013 as a leader in Family Law, and was selected as a SuperLawyer® in consecutive years from 2005 through 2012.
