Lucie Gerhardt is an associated partner in Noerr’s Frankfurt office. She has an educational background in civil and common law, was admitted to the German bar in 2012 and speaks German, English and conversational French.

Her practice focuses on commercial and investment arbitration, particularly in the pharmaceutical and renewable energy sectors. She represents German and international clients in post-M&A, corporate and contract disputes and is also experienced in large-scale construction cases. The regional focus of her arbitration practice includes Europe, the U.S. and Asia. She regularly represents Chinese clients in post-M&A disputes.

Lucie Gerhardt acts as counsel in institutional arbitrations conducted under various arbitration rules (e.g. DIS, ICC, ICSID, SCC, UNCITRAL) as well as in ad hoc arbitrations, including expedited proceedings. She is also experienced in applying for interim measures, both before German courts and arbitral tribunals. She assists clients with the recognition and enforcement of domestic and foreign arbitral awards and has handled numerous arbitrator challenges before German courts.

Lucie Gerhardt regularly acts as arbitrator in commercial arbitrations with particular experience in contract disputes, damages claims and trade law. She has conducted a large number of evidentiary hearings; in person, remote and hybrid. She is passionate about how digitalization can transform and improve international arbitration.

Additionally, she advises German clients that are involved in U.S. litigation on litigation strategy, the service of process abroad and issues involving the cross-border taking of evidence, including pre-trial discovery of documents and U.S.-style depositions in Germany/the EU.

Lucie Gerhardt is co-author of The DIS Arbitration Rules – An Article-by-Article Commentary (2020), a comprehensive English commentary on the arbitration rules of the German Arbitration Institute (DIS).
