Meg McKee is Of Counsel to PK Law. She comes to the firm from Proctor & McKee, P.A. where she has practiced with Donald Proctor since 1999 and became a principal of the firm in 2003. Prior to that she was with Miles & Stockbridge and Smith, Somerville & Case. She has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in trials, arbitrations, mediations and appeals in matters involving complex commercial, corporate and business litigation, real property disputes and serious personal injury litigation. Meg is highly regarded in the business and legal communities for her expertise in business dispute litigation particularly those involving shareholder and membership interests.Meg graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981 and received her law degree from the University of Baltimore in 1984, where she was a National Champion in the American Bar Association’s Client Counseling Competition. After graduating from law school, she served as a law clerk in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, Maryland in 1984 and 1985. She then joined the Baltimore–based firm Smith, Somerville & Case in 1985, practicing from that firm’s Annapolis, Maryland office with a concentration in insurance defense litigation. In 1995 Meg joined the Baltimore – based firm of Miles & Stockbridge in its Towson office, where she concentrated her practice in the fields of commercial litigation and insurance defense.Meg is a seasoned litigator and prides herself on her ability to communicate effectively in both written submissions and oral presentations at a variety of tribunals, including at trial, on appeal, in arbitration and in mediation. Meg regularly encourages her clients to mediate before pursuing litigation, but is a fierce advocate for her client’s cause when mediation fails and litigation ensues.A knowledgeable and respected litigator, Meg currently serves on the Maryland State Bar Association Board of Governors and Executive Committee. She is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the Maryland Bar Foundation and of the Litigation Counsel of America. She has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers from 2016 to present. Meg holds the AV® PreeminentTM Peer Review RatingSM by Martindale-Hubbell® for her legal abilities and dedication to professional ethics. Meg has served for a number of years as a faculty member for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy’s Young Lawyers Trial Advocacy Course at Georgetown University. She actively mentors young women lawyers through the Woman’s Bar Association. She was appointed to serve on the Laws Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association in 2009, where she currently serves as Co-Chair. She has been a member of the Baltimore County Professionalism Committee since 2013 and served as Chair from 2014-2015. She also served on the Judicial Selections Committee of the Women’s Bar Association from 2008 through 2014. Meg has served on the Executive Committee of the Baltimore Carroll Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association since 2013 and currently serves as Vice President of the Chapter.
