Mark A. Kirsch is a principal and Chair of Cohen and Wolf's Real Estate Group and a member of the Commercial Lending and Common Interest Communities Groups. Resident in the firm's Bridgeport office, Mr. Kirsch practices in the area of commercial real estate, where he is involved in all aspects of acquisition, financing, leasing, conveyance and development. He has extensive experience representing banks and other financial institutions in commercial lending transactions, including asset-based and real estate secured loans. He also devotes significant time to the law of common interest communities, including drafting offering statements and other formation documents, community association borrowing, and reviewing and amending common interest community governing instruments.
Mr. Kirsch is admitted to practice in Connecticut, the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut, and New York, and is a member of the American, New York, Connecticut, and Greater Bridgeport Bar Associations. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and a member of the Fairfield/Westchester Chapter of the Real Estate Finance Association of Connecticut.
Mr. Kirsch has been recognized as a leading lawyer in Connecticut in the area of Real Estate Law by the 2010-2018 editions of Chambers USA - America's Leading Lawyers for Business, where he attracted praise as "a real talent” who is “extremely efficient and very responsive” in his approach. He is listed in the Best Lawyers in America (2013-2019 editions) and has been named to Connecticut Super Lawyers (2013-2019) for his work in the area of Real Estate Law.
Mr. Kirsch currently serves on the Board of Directors of both the Federation for Jewish Philanthropy of Upper Fairfield County and the Jewish Community Foundation. He is a past Chair of the Board of Directors of Leadership Greater Bridgeport, and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council. He is also a past President of Congregation B'nai Israel in Bridgeport, CT, and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Center for Community Services, where he served, for a time, as Chair of its Allocations Committee.
Mr. Kirsch received his B.S., magna cum laude, in 1982 from the State University of New York at Albany, and his J.D. in 1985 from Boston University School of Law.
