MICHELLE L. BOUTIN is an attorney at Jermain, Dunnagan & Owens, P.C., in Anchorage Alaska, obtained her JD from Hamline Law School in Minnesota in 1986, clerked for the Bankruptcy Judge in Alaska from 1986 - 88; was head of the legal department for FDIC Anchorage office from 1990 to 1993, and thereafter in private practice to present. She is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the State of Alaska and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is past President of the Anchorage Bar Association and past Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the Alaska Bar Association, and a former attorney representative to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Judicial Conference.
Her practice focuses on bankruptcy creditor rights, business transactions, commercial litigation. Representative clients include banks, credit unions, corporations, individuals, and the bankruptcy trustee. She has worked on major bankruptcy cases filed in Alaska in the past 20 years. Her practice also includes commercial collections, real estate transactions, workouts, purchase and sale agreements, and foreclosures judicial and non-judicial. Ms. Boutin speaks regularly on a variety of issues related to bankruptcy law and creditor collection rights.
Ms. Boutin enjoys practicing law in Alaska and states that "only in Alaska would I get the opportunity to work on cases involving oil rigs, gold mining claims, vessels, airplanes, fishing permits, fishing lodges, and seafood processing plants."
