Along with a focus on appellate work in federal and state courts, Michelle represents clients in Utah and California in a wide range of business litigation matters, including business torts, breach of contract cases, and First Amendment litigation. Michelle also represents clients in environmental and natural resources litigation matters, including public lands litigation. Michelle regularly has cases in front of, and argues before, the Utah Supreme Court, Utah Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit in her busy appellate practice and was appointed to the Utah Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Appellate Rules and the Utah Appellate Roster in recognition of her high level of appellate advocacy in Utah.
Michelle began her legal career practicing in New York at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, handling high-profile, complex commercial litigation and appellate matters. She then worked as a staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit after serving as a law clerk to Judge Monroe G. McKay. Michelle also turned her advocacy skills to writing daily editorial articles and columns for the Salt Lake Tribune and providing political commentary and analysis for news and media organizations. Michelle brings a diversity of skills and experience to advocate on behalf of clients in complex civil litigation, regulatory, and appellate matters.
