Natanya is a highly respected wealth planning attorney who appreciates the sensitive and technical nature of her practice. A specialist in estate planning and charitable matters, she places a high priority on understanding her clients’ concerns and goals at a holistic level, so her legal work meets each client’s unique needs.
Natanya approaches every estate planning engagement with empathy, honesty and pragmatism. She communicates in a way that her clients understand, and ensures that her clients’ assets will pass to their descendants, charities or other beneficiaries in a secure, private and efficient manner. She also addresses lifetime asset protection.
Natanya is experienced in all aspects of estate planning and administration, ranging from streamlined planning for young families to sophisticated planning for business owners, corporate executives, private equity partners, and families with inherited wealth. A tax lawyer by training, Natanya helps clients minimize gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer taxes through a variety of techniques, such as dynasty trusts, insurance planning, split-interest trusts, family holding companies and intra-family sales and loans. Taxes aside, Natanya also enjoys working with clients who have particularly challenging family structures or personal concerns.
When advising on philanthropic matters, Natanya helps clients develop and implement their charitable goals and maximize tax deductions. She has extensive experience working with family foundations, donor advised funds, restricted gift agreements, endowments and joint ventures. Natanya also advises nonprofit organizations with respect to tax and general business matters.
Natanya is a unique lawyer because she strives to be both practical and precise. Natanya enjoys working in a boutique firm, where she can apply her extensive experience to its fullest capacity, while also connecting with real people on a daily basis. In addition to her private practice, Natanya is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown Law Center, where she teaches Estate, Gift & Generation Skipping Transfer taxes in the Tax LLM program.
A native Washingtonian, Natanya lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with her husband and two young children. She is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia and New York.
