Olga McWilliam Benson

A graduate of Dalhousie Law School, Olga McWilliam Benson practices with Benson Buffett PLC, with a major focus on personal injury litigation. Prior to joining the firm, she carried on a general practice in a small firm environment where she gained significant experience in employment law, general corporate matters, real estate and Estate matters. Olga regularly appears in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, both Trial Division and the Court of Appeal. She has also appeared in the Federal Court of Canada, Federal Court of Appeal, and the Tax Court of Canada. Olga currently serves as a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Outside of her law practice, Olga served for many years as Vice-President of the Provincial Board of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and was President of the NL SPCA Foundation, the major fundraising arm. She remains passionate about animal welfare. Olga also volunteered with Easter Seals on its Mermaids in the City campaign and was chairperson of the gala finale. Currently, Olga sits on the organizing committee for the St. John’s International Circus Festival presented by Wonderbolt Circus, which held its inaugural festival in September, 2018.
