Sam Lipshie practices in the areas of entertainment, music, intellectual property and commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He also has extensive experience in connection with the acquisition and disposition of media, broadcast and other intellectual property. Sam has practiced before Tennessee trial and appellate courts, as well as federal, district and appellate courts in many states. He has handled copyright, royalty (publishers, producers and talent) and intellectual property litigation, as well as a multitude of cases involving the Uniform Commercial Code, trade secrets, covenants not to compete, interference with contractual relations, and other business and commercial issues. Sam has spoken at the Vanderbilt School of Law and before many professional audiences on most of the subject areas listed above. He was a visiting faculty member for Entertainment Litigation at the University of Tennessee College of Law during 2007 - 2010.
Sam is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations. He also is a member of the Copyright Society of the South and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (AAJ).
