Susan D. Mitchell proudly hails from North Bay, Ontario and continues to provide legal services in Northern Ontario as well as Eastern Ontario. Susan works primarily in our Ottawa office, but also travels to our locations in Cornwall, North Bay, and Kingston as needed to meet with clients on personal injury matters.
Susan began practicing in 2002 and has been a Partner at Tierney Stauffer LLP since 2007. She became Managing Partner in 2018. Susan practices civil litigation, focusing on personal injury law, medical malpractice, and insurance law.
Susan is an active member of the County of Carleton Law Association (CCLA), the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA), The Advocates’ Society, and the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Law Association (SDGLA).
Susan spent a number of years as Chair of the New Lawyers and Articling Students Continuing Legal Education Committee and has spoken at numerous educational programs for the CCLA and Advocates Society. Susan has also been a guest speaker at the Annual CCLA Solicitors Conference and Litigators Conference as well as a guest lecturer at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law.
Susan is general counsel to the Canadian Society of Forensic Scientists and is a past member of the Fundraising Committees for both the Brain Injury Association of the Ottawa-Valley and the Charity Golf Tournament Committee for St. Patrick’s Home Foundation.
Susan is a member of the Women’s Business Network (WBN) and is on the Board of Directors for, and an active volunteer with, the FAMSAC Emergency Food Cupboard in Bells Corners.
In addition to providing legal services to clients through our offices in Cornwall, Kingston, and Ottawa, Susan provides services to clients in North Bay, Sudbury, New Liskeard and surrounding areas.
