Trace Hummel is a member of the Government Law Group and the Construction and Real Estate Sections at von Briesen & Roper, s.c. He helps clients resolve commercial and contract disputes, including lease disputes, boundary disputes, waterfront litigation associated with riparian rights, construction defects, and litigation matters involving contractors, owners, home inspectors, architects and other design professionals, surveyors and other commercial real estate professionals. He assists municipalities as special counsel on matters involving real estate, municipal law, board meetings, litigation and investigations.
Trace also works with residential and commercial real estate owners on their construction, commercial and real estate projects, including contracts, leases, purchase agreements, lien documentation, surveys and easements.
In addition to his construction and real estate practice, Trace has experience in toxic tort litigation involving identification of products, exposures and cause, as well as trust and estate litigation involving multiple beneficiaries, trustees, undue influence claims and high net worth assets.
During law school, Trace served as a member of the Sports Law Review, was the Head Chair of the 2016 Intramural Sports Negotiation Competition and participated in the National Sports Law Negotiation Competition held annually in San Diego. He was the Senior Articles Editor for The Marquette Law Review and worked for two years as Dean Joseph D. Kearney’s Research Assistant. Trace also volunteered at the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic and Bankruptcy Help Desk.
