Wanda Simek has practiced commercial litigation for 20 years. She represents corporate and individual clients in matters relating to shareholder and partnership disputes, professional negligence, real estate litigation, construction litigation, and breach of commercial contracts. In addition, Wanda has completed the BC Insurance Council’s General Insurance course and advises clients on insurance coverage and insurance contract interpretation issues. She has acted as insurance defence counsel for architects, engineers, directors and officers, realtors, and construction contractors. She is now regularly retained to advise on complex insurance issues in multi-party construction litigation.
Wanda previously practiced at a boutique construction and insurance litigation firm, the Real Estate Errors and Omissions Insurance Corporation, and a boutique commercial litigation firm. She is experienced in the courtroom but also respected for devising practical strategies for her clients when navigating disputes and negotiating resolutions outside of the courtroom.
Wanda enjoys providing mentorship to young lawyers and volunteers with Access Pro Bono as well as animal rescue organizations.
