Bill Kettlewell has four decades of experience representing clients in white collar criminal cases, government enforcement actions, and complex civil litigation. In the course of his storied career he has successfully tried numerous civil and criminal cases in both state and federal courts as well as before administrative and regulatory agencies and licensing boards. He also frequently leads sensitive internal investigations for his institutional clients.
Bill has represented companies, CEOs and other C-suite executives, and other professionals in a wide variety of industries, including health care, pharmaceutical, medical devices, financial services, industrial materials, environmental services, defense procurement, and commercial fishing.
Bill has successfully dealt with government investigations and enforcement actions arising out of alleged kickbacks, antitrust violations, health care fraud, obstruction of justice, overbilling, false claims, and fraud. He has also handled complex environmental crimes and ERISA and bank fraud charges.
Bill's civil litigation experience includes the defense of clients involved in multidistrict, private antitrust actions, mass torts, and the defense of commercial disputes, false claim cases, qui tam, whistleblower actions, and fraud cases.
Bill served as a state and federal prosecutor for 12 years before moving into private practice. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, he was Chief of the President's Organized Crime and Drug Task Force for New England and later Chief of the Criminal Division for the District of Massachusetts.
