Woody Vaughan is a partner in Holland & Knight's Atlanta office, where his practice focuses on public finance transactions, economic development projects and multifamily housing finance. Mr. Vaughan leads the firm's Georgia Public Finance Initiative and has substantial experience in tax-exempt finance for state and local governments; multifamily housing facilities; stadiums; and governmental and nonprofit healthcare, educational and other facilities. He routinely serves as bond counsel and counsel to underwriters, bond purchasers, credit enhancers and borrowers on complex public finance transactions. Since 2007, Mr. Vaughan has represented clients in more than 185 public finance transactions totaling more than $10.5 billion in aggregate principal amount of bonds.
Mr. Vaughan also has extensive knowledge in the area of affordable housing finance that includes representing financial institutions providing debt financing on tax exempt and conventional low-income housing tax credit projects throughout the United States.
In addition, Mr. Vaughan has worked on some of the largest economic development incentive transactions ever completed in the state of Georgia. As a trusted advisor, he helps corporate clients looking to relocate to or expand in Georgia as well as local governments developing incentive packages for prospective private industry clients.
