These 2024 editions extend coverage to additional practice areas, furthering Best Lawyers’ commitment to showcasing the most reliable and unbiased recognitions globally.

The 15^th edition of The Best Lawyers in Mexico garnered the highest volume of nominations, surpassing the previous year by over 5%. This surge in interest reinforces the legal community’s trust in these rankings, strengthening the company’s fundamental Purely Peer Review™ methodology.

The Best Lawyers in Mexico 2024 edition includes 1,499 lawyer rankings, with 63 lawyers earning “Lawyer of the Year” distinctions which is awarded to the lawyer with the highest peer-review feedback in their practice area and metropolitan area.

This year, Outsourcing was added as the newest practice area of the 66 presented in this year’s accolades. Practice areas are introduced as Best Lawyers receives sufficient voter feedback, and this year’s volume of participation showcased the industry’s commitment to and interest in Outsourcing. The five practice areas that saw the largest growth in this milestone edition from last year are Intellectual Property Law, Commercial Litigation, Tax Law, Labor and Employment Law and Administrative Law.

The second edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Mexico also increased the breadth of coverage with an additional seven new practice areas: Criminal Defense, Immigration Law, Insolvency and Reorganization Law, Insurance Law, Natural Resources Law, Oil and Gas Law and Structured Finance Law. Using the same methodology as the traditional Best Lawyers recognitions, the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Mexico awards celebrate 371 lawyers from 65 firms across a total of 27 practice areas. The five practice areas that saw the largest growth in the second edition are Corporate and Mergers and Acquisition Law, Tax Law, Labor and Employment Law, Real Estate Law and Commercial Litigation.

In addition to recognizing individual lawyers, the prestigious "Law Firm of the Year" accolade was conferred upon 12 firms at the national level. These awards acknowledge a singular top-performing firm within a specific legal practice area across the country.
