How did you get into your practice area?
I was a chemistry major in college and began practicing law a year after the Environmental Cleanup Responsibility Act became effective in New Jersey. Hence, I was placed in the “environmental group” of my prior firm.
Were there any particular inspirations (people or events) that spurred your interest?
I had the great privilege of being trained by one of the best environmental attorneys in the country, Michael Dore, Esq., who is now retired. He brought intelligence, eagerness, creativity, and entertainment to the practice of law.
Who are your typical clients?
Corporations, sole proprietors, individuals, and developers.
What is your ultimate goal in your practice?
To provide the best service to our clients as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Describe one of your most interesting or memorable cases.
At a fairly young age, I had a Superfund site litigation matter located in St. Croix in the Virgin Islands. Depositions were taken in Milan, Italy, and court appearances were in St. Croix. It was an amazing experience for a young lawyer, both in terms of the experienced talent I met and the places I got to see.
What qualities do you possess that you find particularly relevant/necessary for practicing your area of law?
Enthusiasm, experience, education, assiduity, and humility.
What lessons have you learned along the way?
To listen carefully to what others have to say, even if I disagree. You learn nothing by talking.
