Allen/McMillan Litigation Counsel (“AMLC”) is an award-winning commercial litigation boutique located in the heart of Vancouver. AMLC was founded with the goal of being at the forefront of innovative and effective legal representation. The firm opened in June 2018 with four lawyers: two partners (Wes McMillan and Greg Allen) and two associates. In only six years, the firm has grown to 13 lawyers and an articling student.

The firm has particular strength in real estate litigation. From 2021-2023, the firm and, specifically, Wes McMillan were recognized by Best Lawyers for Real Estate Law. AMLC lawyers have written and taught courses for Realtors in British Columbia, as well as acted as counsel for the Real Estate Errors and Omissions Insurance Corporation.

AMLC also has a distinct expertise in shareholders' remedies, municipal law and administrative law. The firm has a strong appellate advisory and appellate advocacy practice, with its lawyers appearing regularly at the British Columbia Court of Appeal. Further, the firm often appears in the Supreme Court of Canada for intervenors in public interest litigation. Since opening in 2018, counsel from AMLC have appeared at the Supreme Court of Canada in six cases, with all three partners also having made appearances at the Supreme Court of Canada prior to AMLC opening.
