Bonezzi Switzer Polito & Perry Co. L.P.A. was founded in 1998 and began with eight attorneys and seven support staff members. Today, through hard work and dedication, BSPP has grown to twenty-nine attorneys and thirty-eight support staff members and has offices in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Mansfield, Medina and Youngstown, Ohio, as well as St. Petersburg, Florida.

BSPP specializes in civil litigation defense in the areas of medical malpractice and nursing home and long-term health care negligence. BSPP represents hospitals, physicians, surgery centers, nursing homes, assisted living, medical specialty practice groups, insurance companies, employers, business entities, asbestos clients and religious and charitable organizations throughout Ohio and Florida.

In addition to providing litigation defense, BSPP provides a multitude of services including, risk management, administrative appeals and general health care law. Examples of administrative appeals include representing health care providers before the state board in matters involving investigation of complaints and defending licensure challenges.

BSPP’s litigators also represent clients in the areas of asbestos, mass tort, product liability, contracts, employment and labor, environmental, general property and casualty liability, insurance coverage and subrogation, workers’ compensation, organizational/institutional liability, private school, and professional liability.

BSPP has obtained several hundred defense trial verdicts and countless more favorable dismissals without trial for its clients.

BSPP attorneys routinely appear in state trial and appellate courts, federal courts, before multiple state and federal governmental agencies and before state licensing boards. The firm’s attorneys also engage in mediations and arbitrations on a regular basis. BSPP has significant appellate court experience and has argued successfully in the Ohio Supreme Court on numerous occasions.

BSPP has nine registered nurse consultants who assist the attorneys in organizing and summarizing medical issues in large volumes of medical records which are necessary for most medical malpractice cases. In addition, the nurse consultants work closely with the attorneys to identify expert witnesses and prepare the defense of the case. BSPP also utilizes eight paralegals to assist in obtaining all of the necessary past medical records, including probate and autopsy reports, and in conducting background research on opposing parties and potential witnesses.

In 2023, sixteen BSPP attorneys were recognized as Super Lawyers in their respective fields and three attorneys were recognized as Rising Stars, which recognizes exceptional attorneys who are under 40 or have been practicing for less than ten years. Furthermore, BSPP was named as a 2023 Top Ranked Law Firm by Martindale-Hubbell which reviews law firms all around the country.
