Our government investigations, examinations and enforcement practice, centered in the firm's Washington, D.C. office, has been working with our creditor clients for a number of years to help them prepare for examinations and resolve investigations and enforcement actions with federal regulators, such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), U.S. Department of Justice, state regulators and state Attorneys General. Our team includes former officials with federal regulatory agencies, including the CFPB and FTC; former in-house lawyers from banks, sales finance companies and other financial services institutions; and attorneys with lengthy experience representing many financial services firms as outside counsel. We are able to view legal issues from various perspectives, whether from the in-house counsel point of view or that of a government regulator.

Dedicated to our clients and their businesses

Our goal is to provide clients with answers to their unique needs in a responsive manner. A number of our clients date back to the firm's founding in 1997. Our attorneys approach client matters with a focus on compliance in order to minimize the possibility of avoid investigation and enforcement. Our long-term focus on regulatory compliance has enabled us to respond efficiently to our clients' questions about how best to navigate the complicated maze of federal and state financial services and banking law. However, many new clients come to us for assistance in responding to investigative demands and our lawyers approach these matters with the objective to negotiate outcomes that minimize or mitigate costs and penalties.
