Allan Muchin co-founded the law firm that bears his name. What began in 1974 as the 24-attorney firm Katten Muchin Zavis has today become Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, with more than 600 attorneys worldwide.

Allan began his legal career as a trial attorney for the Internal Revenue Service. When he helped launch Katten Muchin Zavis, he and his partners set out to create a law firm that was innovative, specialized and entrepreneurial. His practice concentrated on advising corporations, partnerships and wealthy individuals.In addition to his legal practice, Allan has served as a director or active advisor to the board of directors for many privately and publicly held corporations, including Alberto-Culver Company and Columbia Acorn Investment Trust. As an owner and director of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bulls, he maintains a close affiliation with major sports franchises.Allan has long been actively involved in charitable and civic organizations. He has served as chairman of the board of directors of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and is presently the chairman and co-founder of the Noble Network of Charter Schools.
