Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law
Litigation - Bankruptcy
Andy has represented troubled companies in and out of Bankruptcy Court for more than 30 years and focuses on finding practical, long-term solutions to problems. A Certified Public Accountant, Andy began his career with KPMG. He uses his financial background to help clients assess their current circumstances and options by evaluating the source of their financial problems, the core business model, and opportunities to either restructure a business, arrange for a sale of assets, or work toward a liquidation.
Andy’s practice also includes representation of trustees, examiners, and receivers appointed by courts to supervise the administration of insolvent companies or individuals.
On the creditor side, Andy has extensive experience representing creditors’ committees and unsecured creditors in insolvency matters. When working in this capacity, he focuses on trying to understand the insolvent company’s business and issues, as well as the risks involved in alternatives to achieve the best likely financial recovery for creditors.
In all of these roles, Andy takes into consideration the costs to be incurred, the time to achieve the objectives, and the impact upon the client’s existing business.
After graduating from law school, Andy worked as a law clerk for James Queenan, then the Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Massachusetts, and a well-known co-author of the authoritative treatise on Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Andy has written and spoken extensively on bankruptcy related issues.
