Anthony Gaines

Anthony Gaines is an associate in Nixon Peabody’s Corporate Transactions practice group. Anthony represents businesses in commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and leveraged buyouts. In addition, he counsels clients on venture capital and growth equity financings and corporate governance and compliance matters.

My focus

I counsel public and private companies on corporate and business law matters, with a focus on providing strategically drafted agreements, organizational documents, and resolutions. Working with companies in a variety of industries, I assist clients by providing early risk detection and due diligence in middle- and upper-market M&A transactions. I represent corporate strategic and private equity clients in negotiating, documenting, and closing private mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions, including assisting private equity funds in the purchase, ongoing representation, and sale of portfolio companies.

Looking aheadThe COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the market and will continue to do so as new sectors of law are created. This is the perfect time for young entrepreneurs and the like to embark upon new business ventures in, specifically, technology or pharmaceuticals ventures. I am also curious to see the impact of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and blockchain.
