Antonia Magdaleno Carmona

She founded her own firm in 2011 after leading the Litigation and Bankruptcy Department at a national law firm between years 1999 and 2011.

She was a Lecturer in the Litigation Department at the Law School (University of Valencia) between years 2007 and 2013 and is currently a Professor of Insolvency Law at the International University of Andalusia (Universidad Internacional de Andalucía), Universitat Jaume I in Castellón and at Catholic University of Valencia.

She is an Arbitrator and Chair of the Arbitrators Commitee experts in commercial and corporate arbitrations (European Arbitration Association - Asociación Europea de Arbitraje AEADE). She is also an arbitrator at the Spanish Arbitration Courts of the Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona Bar Associations, and in the relevant Arbitration Courts of the Madrid and Valencia Chambers of Commerce.

She is a Member of the Spanish Arbitration Club (Club Español de Arbitraje).

She has been appointed as a receiver by several Commercial Courts in Spain (Valencia, Alicante, Castellón, Bilbao, Coruña, Vigo and Madrid). As such, she has participated in major insolvency proceedings such as Llanera, Urazca, Martinsa, Viajes Marsans, Supermercados Madrid or the industrial Group Hierros Sopena. Furthermore, she has been appointed as a receiver for the Fergo Aisa bankruptcy by the Spanish Securities and Exchange Commission (CNMV).

She is a Mediator in civil, commercial and insolvency matters.

She has published several articles and studies in numerous social media and publications such as Anuario de Derecho Concursal, La Revista de Derecho Concursal y Paraconcursal, Iberian Lawyer or La Tribuna del Derecho, among others.

She has collaborated with different articles in the following works and manuals: “The Spanish Constitution of 1978 after its thirtieth anniversary” (Tirant lo Blanch 2010), “Sobre el Alma de la Toga”(Tirant lo Blanch 2010), “Crisis Inmobiliaria y Derecho Concursal” [Real Estate Crisis and Insolvency Law] (Aranzadi 2009), “La liquidación anticipada” [Advanced Liquidation] (Aranzadi 2009), “Comentario Práctico a la Ley de Competencia Desleal” [Practical Comments on the Spanish Unfair Competition Act), (Tecnos 2009), “Diccionario terminológico del Arbitraje Internacional Nacional e Internacional Comercial y de Inversiones”, published by Estudio Mario Castillo Freyre in Perú in a volumen that will be part of the Colección Biblioteca de Arbitraje, co-author of the monographic work “Aspectos procesales de la práctica concursal” [Procedural issues related with bankruptcy proceedings] (Bosch 2015) and author of Chapter VI-2 “A Trustee in Bankruptcys statement of accounts”, from the book “Trustees in Bankruptcy” (Aranzadi, 2016).
