Brett Venn is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. He focuses on business and commercial disputes. Brett represents energy clients in litigation concerning energy infrastructure, including pipelines and LNG facilities. He currently represents energy companies in tort actions, challenges to contracts, actions enforcing right of way and servitude agreements, and appeals of severance tax assessments. He has also represented energy-industry clients in contract disputes, shareholder disputes, and actions under the Louisiana Oil Well Lien Act. Brett’s appellate experience includes arguing in the Louisiana Supreme Court. Brett also represents clients in a variety of contractual disputes, as well as fiduciaries in trust and estate litigation. Brett joined Jones Walker following a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Chief Justice Gerry L. Alexander of the Washington State Supreme Court, from 2008 to 2009. He was a teacher in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with Teach for America, from 2003 to 2005.
