Conner Harris is a partner at Rayman Harris LLP carrying on a broad-based civil litigation and administrative law practice with a focus on municipal and planning matters, property-related disputes, expropriations, and complex commercial litigation. Conner is an advocate who has successfully acted as lead counsel in trials and hearings before all levels of Court in Ontario, assisted in matters before the Supreme Court of Canada, and has appeared before a wide range of administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Land Tribunal, the National Energy Board, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Toronto Local Appeal Body, and the Office of the Surveyor General.
Conner earned his law degree from the University of Manitoba in 2013, graduating with the University Gold Medal in Law for the highest grade point average in his class. He earned several other awards and academic prizes throughout law school and was selected to represent the University of Manitoba at the Laskin Moot Court competition. Conner served as a law clerk to the Honourable Madam Justice Elizabeth Heneghan of the Federal Court of Canada for the 2013-2014 term, and prior to that was selected to clerk for the Judges of the Manitoba Court of Appeal during his final year of law school. While serving as a law clerk Conner was part of a team that placed second in the annual Exchequer Cup law clerks moot competition.
Conner is a co-author of The Annotated Conservation Authorities Act. This is the first publication that comprehensively reviews Conservation Authorities and their regulatory powers over land in Ontario.
Outside the office Conner enjoys spending time with his wife Kayla and their two unruly Shiba Inus, or studying at the “law library” (aka surfing) in search of the perfect Great Lakes wave.
